AEP TEXAS UPDATE ON LAREDO RESTORATION -- 5 A.M. - 5-22-2017
As of 5 a.m. on Monday, AEP Texas crews had reduced the number of customers without power in Laredo to approximately 7,400 as compared with the approximately 13,000 left without power when the thunderstorm swept through the area around 5 p.m. on Sunday.

AEP TEXAS UPDATE ON LAREDO RESTORATION -- 4 P.M. - 5-22-2017
As of 3 p.m. on Monday, approximately 5,500 Laredo residents remained without power in the aftermath of Sunday's thunderstorm, which left 13,000 customers without power during the storm's peak at 5 p.m. that day. AEP Texas crews anticipate restoring power to all but about 1,000 residents by 9 p.m. Monday night.

AEP TEXAS UPDATE ON RESTORATION OF ELECTRIC SERVICE IN LAREDO AREA5-21-2017 -- 8 P.M.
AEP Texas has received confirmation that a young adult male was killed in Laredo when he came into contact with enegized electrical equipment downed by the storm that swept through the area late this afternoon.

THOMAS P. BRICE HAS BEEN NAMED SOUTHWESTERN ELECTRIC POWER COMPANY'S VICE PRESIDENT OF REGULATORY & FINANCE EFFECTIVE MAY 20.
He is responsible for SWEPCO's regulatory and financial strategy, the company's budgeting process and he serves as the primary interface with SWEPCO's parent company, American Electric Power, for finance and regulatory activities.

AEP conducted a materiality assessment in 2012 to better understand reporting expectations of the Global Reporting Initiative, the International Integrated Reporting Council and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board.

AEP conducted a materiality assessment in 2012 to ensure that we are reporting on sustainability issues that are of importance to our stakeholders and our business. This assessment was compared with the material risks of the company to validate relevance and importance. AEP's reporting is guided by the Global Reporting Initiative and the International Integrated Reporting Council.

Statement of the AEP Board of Directors

The AEP Board of Directors has assigned responsibility for monitoring and overseeing the company's sustainability initiatives to the Board's Committee on Directors and Corporate Governance. This is the fourth year AEP has integrated its sustainability reporting with financial reporting. The Committee fully supports this approach. Stakeholders have expressed approval and appreciation for AEP's leadership with this integrated approach to corporate reporting.
